Our Story

The Pregnancy

The Discovery:

It was the cold evening of February 13th, 2006, when we took the home Pregnancy test.  We still remember the curious expressions on each others faces for those two minutes (from taking out the Pregnancy Test Instrument from the pack till the appearance of the Second line on the Instrument). Well we both knew that the results were as expected, but we still needed a confirmation from the Doctor's Clinic.

We called up the Doctor's office and before we could finalize a date and time
for the appointment, the lady at the other end congratulated us. That was a sweet shock.  We got an appointment for the 15th. It was just 36 hours away but looked like a long wait for us to announce the news to our near ones. Luckily 14th was quite an eventful day and passed quickly. 14th was Aparna's birthday and the day passed with Aparna's job interview in the morning, delicious Pav Bhaji in the afternoon and movie show of Rang De Basanti in the evening. Then came 15th and we got our confirmation from the Doctor's clinic. The confirmation came with hard realization that our lives were never going to be same again. We decided to share the news only with our immediate family members now and to announce it to everyone after the first trimester – in the second week of April.

Eight Month Project:

With five weeks Pregnant, Feb 15th was the start of an eight month long beautiful but one of the toughest projects for Aparna and me. A project that taught us to think beyond ourselves and one which needed much more precise management than a real life work project.

Pregnancy is one of the greatest events in a woman's life. The artistry, the amazing accuracy and the awesome detail associated with the little life inside the womb is one of the most pristine things in this world.

The first trimester was tough with everyday nausea and never before experienced biological changes for Aparna.

The second trimester started with a cake party in my office ending the suspense for everyone. With many congratulation mails and phone calls, we were on top of the world. The best parts of this trimester were the visits to the Doc where we heard our baby’s heart beat and saw some baby profiles during the Ultrasound.

The third trimester was the most exciting one. With an elderly support (from Aparna’s parents and my parents being present here physically), Aparna and I could spend lot of time for shopping the baby items, for planning our future and preparing ourselves emotionally for our baby’s arrival.

Time flew and the eight month project got closed but only to kick-off multiple life projects and initiatives.

Hope you enjoyed our story.
